Ultrahigh-Speed Spectral-Domain Optical Coherence Tomography up to 1-MHz A-Scan Rate Using Space–Time-Division Multiplexing

The primary optimization of the imaging speed optical coherence tomography (OCT) has been keenly studied. In order to overcome major limitation spectral-domain OCT (SD-OCT), we developed an ultrahigh-speed SD-OCT system, with A-scan rate up 1 MHz, using method space–time-division multiplexing (STDM). Multicameras comprising a single spectrometer were implemented in STDM eliminate dead time operation, whereas was simultaneously employed enable wide-range scanning measurements at high speed. By successfully integrating GPU parallel processing, 8 vol/s for image range $250\times 250\times2048$ pixels ( notation="LaTeX">$9\times 4.5\times 5$ mm) achieved, adjustable volume according required and range. examined STDM-OCT results customized thin film confirmed its feasibility various fields that require rapid wide-field scanning.
